Size and clearance

Carl’s Place does not recommend enclosures smaller than 96 in (2.44 m) high and 100 in (2.54 m) wide. Leave 2–3 in (5–8 cm) above and on each side of the frame, 6–7 in (15–18 cm) above a curved kit, and keep the screen 12–16 in (30–40 cm) in front of the wall so it does not slam into it.

Safety

Hang safety baffles from the ceiling in front of the screen (about 12 in / 30 cm of drop for Pro enclosures, 6 in / 15 cm for DIY), pad the frame, and stand at least 10 ft (3 m) from the screen to limit bounce-back. A hard, cheap mat can also push the ball back towards you.
